About Us

Ambassador for Youth and Adolescent Reproductive Health Program (AYARHEP) is a non-governmental organization working to promote Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) needs of Adolescents and Young People Living with HIV (AYPLHIV). The organization work with and for Adolescent and young people living with HIV, and also empowers young girls with SRHR information and education.

AYARHEP programs are designed from research and needs assessment. The interventions and mitigation efforts are tailored to alleviate suffering of adolescent and young people living with HIV. The organization nurtures new model of leadership, among adolescent and young people.

The organization programs are adolescent and youth friendly designed to promote sexual reproductive health and rights of the target group age 12- 24 yrs. The organization promotes and encourages entrepreneurship among the target group to enable them initiate income generating activities.

Goal

Contribute towards fast-tracking HIV response to end new HIV infections, AIDs related deaths, stigma and discrimination among adolescents and young people living with HIV in Kenya.

AYARHEP‘S KEY FOCUS

1. Sexual Reproductive Health Rights

AYARHEP works with adolescents and young people with limited resources in the informal settlements. The organization promotes home based care management with focus on HIV. We promote SRHR of young people through championing for adolescent youth friendly services at county level through youth to youth strategy.

2. Livelihoods Program

AYARHEP promotes meaningful participation of young people in national building. The organization nurtures young people on entrepreneurial skills for economic empowerment and supports needy young people with scholarship programs.

GET UP SPEAK OUT program

The project is funded by Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and AYARHEP is a sub recipient of AIDSFond. It aims on the successes and experience from the previous Access Knowledge and Services (ASK) and Unite for Body Rights (UFBR) projects. Our unique benefit is our ability to address the multitude of factors and actors influencing young people’s SRHR using a multi-component approach.

PITCH Partnership to Inspire, Transform and Connect the HIV response program

The project is funded by Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and AYARHEP is a sub recipient of AIDSFond. It aims at supporting community organizations to uphold the rights of populations most affected by HIV and engage in effective advocacy, generate robust evidence and develop meaningful policy solutions. In Kenya the project is implemented by PITCH Alliance network.

Online HIV response project.

This is a pilot project supported by Aidsfond, a project adopting step care model to reach out to adolescent and young people with online interventions. The project leverage on strengthen existing platform and in Kenya AYARHEP implemented the project with LVCT Health.

Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights(ASRHR) Programme 2020 .

The project is funded by SIDA and HIVOS facilitates the grant from SIDA. The project is implemented in four countries Zambia, Malawi, South Africa and in Kenya AYARHEP is the lead partner.

Louise Fond Fund.

The project is coordinated by Aidsfond and lead by former Executive Director Louise Van Deth’s who is the patron of the fund drive for well-wishers to support AYARHEP reach out to adolescent and girls living with HIV.
